Yes; on the Faema Compact the steam knob and the water knob are the same, so this one serves both taps.
Why does it come without the central cap?
Because only the knob body is supplied. If the current one has a central cap/plug, move it to the new knob; a new cap is only needed if yours is broken.
Does it fit other Faema models?
This version is for the Compact series. On other models the knob shape changes; send a photo of the current knob so we can check.
Is it hard to change?
No. With the machine cold, remove the central cap and screw, take off the old knob and fit the new one; then test opening and closing.
