Universal 1/4″ anti-vacuum / air-bleed valve (mainly BSP), with a stainless steel plug and a brass piston. On initial heating it releases the air trapped in the boiler and, on cooling, lets air in to prevent a vacuum; the internal material is anti-scale. It fits most professional and semi-professional boilers.

Does it fit any machine?
It fits most boilers with a 1/4″ connection (professional and semi-professional). As it is universal, confirm the diameter and thread type (usually BSP) of the mounting point.
What exactly does it do?
At start-up it lets out the air trapped in the boiler; on cooling it lets air in so the inside does not go into a vacuum. Without it, an air pocket gives uneven heating and poor steam.
How does it differ from the safety valve?
The safety valve releases excess pressure in a danger situation; this one deals only with air and vacuum. They are two parts with distinct jobs.
Why a stainless steel plug?
Stainless steel resists constant heat and corrosion, giving a more stable seal and greater durability than other materials.
