Faema Elegant bottomless portafilter — 21 g basket
Part no. ET-100259
Bottomless portafilter in the Elegant version, with a 21 g basket, no spout and no base. The whole underside of the basket stays visible during the shot, so channelling and an uneven tamp show up in the first drops. It fits Faema Teorema and Emblema groups and also Brasilia B61, Aurora-Brugnetti, Casadio, Futurmat, Fiamma and Visacrem.

How does it differ from a normal portafilter?
It has no spout and no base, so coffee leaves the basket directly. On a closed portafilter the spout gathers everything together and hides extraction faults.
Which basket comes with it?
A 21 g basket. Set the dose by the basket's capacity: with too much headspace the water finds a path and channelling appears straight away.
What should I look for?
A side jet means uneven distribution; flow starting from one edge points to a tilted tamp; fine spraying suggests a short dose or too coarse a grind for this basket.
