Group gasket shim measuring 64 mm outside diameter, 53 mm inside and just 0.8 mm thick. It seats at the bottom of the recess, behind the gasket, restoring the height lost to wear and bringing the portafilter back to its correct locking angle. Fits La San Marco, La Spaziale, Wega Concept and Astoria groups.
Does it fit La San Marco and La Spaziale machines?
Yes. This 64 × 53 mm shim is sized for La San Marco and La Spaziale brew groups and also suits Wega Concept and the Astoria Gloria and Plus 4 You models. Before ordering, check that the fitted gasket measures 64 mm across the outside.
What are the exact dimensions?
Outside diameter 64 mm, inside diameter 53 mm and 0.8 mm thick. It is a flat, very thin ring, designed to add just eight tenths of a millimetre to the height of the group gasket seat.
Does the shim replace the group gasket?
No. It is fitted alongside the gasket and never in its place: the shim goes into the bottom of the recess first, then the new gasket on top. On its own it seals nothing.
When is a shim needed?
When the portafilter handle swings well past the six o'clock position, or the lock feels loose, even with a new gasket fitted. The group seat has worn over the years and the shim restores that height without replacing the brew group.
