Espresso machine tube ogive cone — 3/8″ nut, 10 mm end

Part no. ET-100333

Sealing ogive cone for compression fittings with a 3/8″ nut and a 10 mm tube end, used in the water and steam pipework of espresso machines. The ring is squeezed between the nut and the conical seat and closes the joint with no tape or chemical paste. It is a service consumable: a new ring goes on whenever a fitting is remade.

FAQ

How do I know this is the right size?
Two measurements have to agree: the 3/8″ nut and the 10 mm tube end. Measure the outside diameter of the tube and the nut of the fitting; if the old part is to hand, hold it next to the new one before assembly.
Where is this type of fitting used on an espresso machine?
In the internal pipework linking the pump, the flowmeter, the boiler, the heat exchanger and the solenoid valves. These joints carry hot water under pressure, which is why sealing is done by deforming the ring rather than with tape or paste.
The joint dripped after the service. Is the ogive to blame?
Almost always. A persistent drop or a white trace of scale around the nut shows the ring is not sealing all the way round. Tightening harder only scores the tube: the right fix is to strip the joint, clean the seat and fit a new ring.
Can I refit the ring I removed?
No. Once compressed, the ring carries the shape of its previous seat and rarely seals again. It is the cheapest part in the circuit and the one that prevents the same fault from returning a week later.
How do I request a quote?
