Anti-vacuum (vacuum breaker) valve, 1/4″ gas, in food-grade low-lead CW510L brass. It lets air in as the boiler cools and releases the initial air as it heats, preventing false pressure on the gauge. Universal, fitting most brands with a 1/4″ thread.
If the boiler thread is 1/4″ gas, yes. It is the most common thread on professional and semi-professional machines; it fits many brands, such as Expobar and La Marzocco.
What is false pressure?
If the valve sticks, air cannot escape on heating and the gauge shows a value above the real steam pressure. Replacing the valve solves it.
Why CW510L brass?
Low lead content, suitable for potable water, and better resistance to hard-water corrosion than ordinary brass.
When should it be replaced?
When there is a continuous steam leak or the pin sticks from scale. In hard water, check every 18 to 24 months.
