When should the group gasket be replaced?
When water escapes around the rim of the portafilter during extraction, when the handle closes well past its normal position, or when the rubber has gone hard and scored. It is the most common wear part in the routine service of any bar.
How is it fitted?
With the group cold: remove the shower screen, lever the old gasket out with a thin screwdriver or a gasket hook, clean the seat thoroughly and press the new one in evenly, with no lubricant. Refit the screen, lock the portafilter and confirm the seal with a short flush.
How many should I keep in reserve?
