Safety thermostat with a 140 °C cut-out and a 250 V rating, using manual reset. It cuts supply to the heating element when the boiler passes its limit and only closes again once reset by hand, which forces the cause to be checked before the machine is restarted. Fits La Marzocco machines.
It acts as the last thermal safeguard: it cuts current to the element at 140 °C. Unlike an automatic thermostat it does not close again on its own, which stops the machine cycling back into overheating.
What are the electrical ratings?
It cuts out at 140 °C and is rated for 250 V. Both figures must match the thermostat fitted, since they set the protection limit and the voltage the contact can safely carry.
Does it fit La Marzocco machines?
Yes, it is intended for La Marzocco machines. Before ordering, confirm the cut-out temperature, the voltage and the shape of the body and terminals on the component fitted.
Why does the thermostat trip?
Nearly always through lack of water in the boiler, a scaled level probe, failed automatic filling or a pressure switch that will not cut. The trip is a symptom, not the fault: replacing it without investigating repeats the problem.
