What do the four 70° holes do?
Each hole makes a steam jet; at 70°, the jets meet in the milk and form a vortex that draws air in as tiny bubbles, giving a silky microfoam.
Four holes or two holes?
Fewer holes give more concentrated steam (small volumes); more holes give faster, more even foam. Four holes is a good balance for professional use.
Why has my foam got worse?
Almost always because the holes are blocked with scale and milk. Clean the tip in a suitable solution and clear the holes; if they are worn, replace the tip.
