La Cimbali and Faema brass tube ogive cone — 3/8″ thread

Brass ogive cone for 3/8″ compression fittings in the water and steam pipework of La Cimbali and Faema machines. As the nut is tightened, the ring deforms against the conical seat and seals metal to metal, with no tape or paste. It is a replacement item: whenever a fitting is opened, the ogive should be renewed.
Will it fit the pipework of my La Cimbali or Faema?
The ogive is listed for the 3/8″ fittings used in La Cimbali and Faema pipework. What decides the fit is the nut size and the diameter of the tube it clamps: compare the part you removed with the new one before assembly. If in doubt, send us a photograph of the fitting.
Why brass rather than another material?
Brass has the right hardness for the job: it yields just enough to copy the shape of the seat and stays firm at the temperature and pressure of the boiler circuit. Rings that are too hard score the seat and create a leak exactly where they ought to seal.
Can the old ogive be reused?
It is not advisable. A ring that has already been compressed will not adapt to a different seat, and the joint either drips or comes to depend on over-tightening, which damages the thread and the tube. The workshop rule is simple: fitting opened, new ogive.
What is the correct assembly order?
Nut onto the tube first, then the ogive, with the tube pushed fully home into the seat. Tighten by hand and then about one turn with a spanner. Once pressure is restored, watch the joint and tighten only the little that is needed if any moisture appears.
