It keeps the spring centred inside the check valve, so the ball or needle seats correctly and stops water flowing back through the circuit.
What is it made of?
It is a technical-polymer (plastic) holder, resistant to hot water and pressure, designed to work inside the non-return valve.
Should I replace only the guide or the whole valve?
If the body and seat are sound and only the guide is worn or bent, this part is enough. If the ball or seat are also worn, service the complete valve.
