It is set to open at 1.5 bar. It releases excess boiler pressure before dangerous levels are reached; it is a safety device, not a working pressure regulator.
What is the body made of?
The body is brass with a 1/8″ thread, suited to permanent contact with boiler steam and hot water. It is a replacement part compatible with Wega and Astoria.
When should it be replaced?
When it vents steam continuously, when scale locks it in its seat, or when it fails to open during a service test. Any boiler work should be done by a technician.
