Faema and Wega concave stainless steel shower screen — E61, made in Italy
Part no. ET-100319
Dished group shower screen in AISI 430 stainless steel, made in Italy, with a caulked rim. It spreads hot water evenly over the whole surface of the coffee, which prevents channelling, keeps the crema stable and removes the stale-oil aftertaste. Suitable for E61-type groups on Faema, Wega, VBM, BFC Royal, SV Italia and Expobar machines.
It is listed for E61-type groups on Faema, Wega, VBM, BFC Royal, SV Italia and Expobar machines. On other E61-based machines it usually seats, but compare the diameter and the dished form with the screen currently fitted, or send us a photograph of the group.
What material is it and where is it made?
AISI 430 stainless steel with a caulked rim, made in Italy. Stainless steel holds the geometry of the holes under constant heat and stands up to group cleaning cycles.
Why does the shower screen matter so much to flavour?
If water reaches the coffee at only a few points, those areas are over-extracted and the rest under-extracted, which gives harsh bitterness and thin body. A dished screen with dozens of small holes spreads water over the whole surface and corrects that imbalance.
What are the signs that it needs replacing?
An uneven jet when the group is run without the portafilter, a stale-oil aftertaste that cleaning no longer removes, and distortion or a worn rim that prevents correct seating. At that stage, cleaning will not restore the distribution.
How often should it be replaced?
With weekly cleaning a screen usually lasts between six and twelve months; in a high-volume bar expect a shorter interval. Request a quote using the form on this page; we ship to Portugal and throughout Europe.
