Copper capillary tube 120 cm long, 2 mm outside and 0.9 mm inside diameter, with a 1/8″ female nut at each end and a coiled section. It connects the boiler or the pump to the pressure gauge and carries pressure without taking direct heat to the dial. The coil absorbs vibration and expansion, sparing the tube from fatigue at the nuts.
It suits any gauge connection with a 1/8″ female nut at both ends. Confirm the thread and measure the run: 120 cm covers most two-group machines, with slack left for the coil.
What is the coil for?
It acts as a spring: it absorbs pump vibration and the thermal expansion of the tube. Without it, the strain concentrates at the nuts and the capillary eventually cracks right there.
Why copper rather than another material?
Copper bends to a generous radius without breaking, stands the boiler working pressure, and lets the run be shaped to the machine during installation.
Which symptoms point to a fault?
A needle that is stuck or slow to react, a reading well below expectation, damp at one of the nuts, or a tube kinked at a sharp angle, which means the bore is pinched.
