Compact non-return valve with a 3/8″ thread, fitted in the water circuit of Faema and La Cimbali machines. It allows flow in one direction only and stops hot water and boiler pressure from pushing back into the pump, the flowmeter and the inlet pipework. The compact body is listed for the Faema E64 and E66.
The part is listed for the water circuit of Faema and La Cimbali machines, in particular the Faema E64 and E66, and has a 3/8″ thread. Check the thread and the space available in the pipework; if you need help, send us the machine model and a photograph of the fitting.
What does a non-return valve do in the water circuit?
The pump pushes cold water into a hot, pressurised boiler. When the pump stops, the non-return valve closes and prevents hot water and pressure from travelling back into the pump, the flowmeter and the inlet pipework, none of which are built for those conditions.
What are the signs that the valve has stopped sealing?
Unusual heat in the inlet pipework, the sound of water flowing back after the pump stops, and pressure loss between shots are the usual indicators. A valve that fails to close wears the pump down quietly and steadily.
How is it fitted correctly?
With the machine switched off and the circuit depressurised, shut off the water supply and follow the arrow marked on the valve body. Tighten the 3/8″ connections with new sealing and confirm there are no leaks at working pressure.
Can scale be the cause of the fault?
It can. Scale particles lodge under the seat and stop it closing fully. Descaling sometimes recovers the valve; once the seat is scored, replacement is the reliable fix. Request a quote using the form on this page.
