Boiler level sight glass tube, 15 mm outside diameter and 115 mm long, for La San Marco 105 series machines. It replaces the level indicator glass once it is clouded, scaled or cracked — the point at which the reading stops being reliable and the glass becomes a risk under pressure. The 15 × 115 mm measurement is the only compatibility criterion.

Why does the sight glass matter?
Boiler water level has to stay within the correct band: below the minimum the heating element risks running dry, above the maximum the steam turns wet and milk texture suffers. The sight glass shows that level directly and also exposes faults in the automatic filling system.
What are the signs that it needs replacing?
Cloudiness and scale that hide the water line, and any crack at all in a glass working under pressure. In the first case the reading becomes guesswork; in the second there is a risk of sudden failure and hot water spray, so replacement should not be postponed.
What does fitting it involve?
Work only with the machine switched off and the boiler cold and depressurised. Renew the seals at both ends and tighten the nuts evenly, without excessive force: uneven pressure is the main reason a new glass breaks.
