FAQ

Will it fit my machine?
Mounting is universal. What must match is the 1/8″ male thread and the working pressure of the pump; compare it with the current valve before ordering.
What does an OPV actually do?
It caps the maximum pressure in the circuit. When the pump goes past 12 bar — with a very fine grind or a closed group — the valve opens and returns the surplus flow, sparing seals and tubing from pressure spikes.
Why 12 bar if I brew at 9 bar?
The OPV is a safety device, not a brew-pressure regulator: it opens above normal working pressure. A 12 bar setting leaves room for the usual 9 bar and only clips the peaks.
Which materials are the seal and spring?
The seal is Viton®, which withstands high temperature and hot water, and the spring is stainless steel — a pairing that keeps the setting stable over many cycles.
When should it be replaced, and how do I order?
A constant drip at the discharge, an unstable gauge reading or pressure loss during extraction point to a worn seat or seal. Use Request a quote and we will reply with availability and lead time. We ship from Portugal to the whole of Europe.
