FAQ
What is this valve for?
It is the boiler safety valve. If the pressurestat or the control circuit fails and pressure rises, it opens on its own at 1.8 bar and vents the excess.
What thread and gasket does it have?
A 3/8″ thread, a Viton® (FKM) gasket rated for continuous work between -20 °C and +200 °C, and a stainless steel spring.
Which machines does it fit?
It is compatible with professional espresso machines from brands such as Astoria, Bezzera, Brasilia, Carimali, La Spaziale, Pavoni, Faema, La Cimbali, VBM, Nuova Simonelli and San Marco, among others.
When should it be replaced?
If it has vented once, if it drips, or if it has scaled up. A safety valve that no longer seals has stopped being reliable.
Can it be blocked to stop it dripping?
Never. It is the last safety device on the boiler and must not be shimmed, over-tightened or obstructed. If it drips, it is replaced.
