What does this probe do?
It reads boiler temperature and reports it to the control board. Every thermal decision the machine makes, PID control included, starts from that value.
What symptoms point to the probe?
Unstable temperature, a temperature error on the display, or heating with no clear logic. A probe that has drifted reports a value away from reality and leads the machine to decide badly.
