Boiler water level float, compatible with La Cimbali espresso machines. It is the part that tells the machine when to fill and when to stop, protecting the element from running dry and the counter from overflow. Limescale is its main enemy.

How does level control work?
With every shot and every milk texturing, the boiler level drops. The float senses that drop, calls for filling and cuts the fill once the correct level is back.
What symptoms indicate a faulty float?
Filling that never stops, overflow through the discharge line, or the opposite: a boiler running low with the element exposed to burnout.
Does limescale affect this part?
Yes. Scale deposits can jam the mechanism and falsify the level reading. Well-treated water extends the life of the float considerably.
